My Books

I have published two books. Many authors keep things organized by staying within the same genre, but for some reason I usually do things the hard way: the books I’ve written (along with the ones on my “To Be Written” list) couldn’t be more different.

Chicken In the Car coverMy newest book is a Chicago area travel guide published by Little Creek Books called Chicken In The Car And The Car Won’t Go: Nearly 200 Ways To Enjoy Chicagoland With Tweens And Teens. I am very excited about this book because I worked on it for about six years, and much of the “research” involved having lots of fun with my family. My older son D, a graphic design major, created the awesome cover. The book was officially published at the beginning of May 2011. My first book, Remembering Ruby: For Families Living Beyond The Loss Of A Pet, was published in 2007. I wrote it after our first beagle, Bijoux, passed away. The story is told from my son’s point of view and is accompanied by black and white photographs. My very talented sister did the graphic design on this book, both inside as well as outside. This book is available on Amazon, and there’s a blog about it, too.

My next book will have a one-word title. Just sayin’.
