Wrecked.

As I am typing this post out—pecking one letter at a time because I’m using my iPad—I’m some 30,000 feet in the air (give or take), on my way home from the BlogHer conference in New York City. I have so many stories to share with you and will do so over the next few days as I regain my bearings (and, let’s be honest, detox), but since it’s been six days since my last post I wanted to use some of my flight time to check in and say hello.

It was a very emotional weekend for me. I was with some of my very best friends, which is always beyond fun, but a part of that fun always involves spending the maximum number of hours every day awake and making memories (not to mention the drinks, even though I am mentioning the drinks), which is exhausting. Leaving them was devastating, and I’m talking about the full-on-fetal-position-sobbing kind of devastating, which did indeed happen. I’m still teary-eyed about it and we said goodbye nearly eight hours ago.

This was also a working trip for me and I was busy making new connections, too. I was goinggoinggoing and I have so many things on which to follow up, it’s a little daunting with the way I feel right now but I’m excited, too.

The weekend was taxing physically, mentally, and emotionally and although I’m wrecked, I’d go back and do it all over again tomorrow.

If I met you for the first time this weekend, I hope to continue our conversation in the future. If I knew you already but somehow didn’t run into you, I hope to catch you the next time around.

And to my sisters (you know who you are), I am eternally grateful for your presence in my life. I can’t express how much you mean to me. I love you; you’re number one.

Can’t wait to hear all the details. Or at least the ones you can share. And I know Flat Sue was right with you on the floor in a fetal position. Glad that you finally made it home!!!! xoxox

Oh Sue (the Real One), I would never go into the fetal position on a hotel room floor: don’t you remember we don’t even put our SUITCASES on a hotel room floor! We were all on the bed. But yes, Flat Sue was right there with us. xoxo

Love you, too, and yes yes yes! So glad you’re close enough that I can see you again soon. I wish everyone were!
