Chinatown Square

The title of my post may be a little on the boring side, but I think you’ll agree that my photos make up for it. Yesterday I enjoyed my first (ever) visit to Chinatown on the near south side of Chicago, where I ate lunch with a friend. Being smack-dab in the middle of Chinatown Square was a lot like being in a whole other world: I guess that’s probably true of a visit to any city’s Chinatown. The culture, the sculptures, the signage, the sights, and the smells have a way of enveloping you in such a lovely way.

Want more? I thought so.

I would have LOVED to have seen Chinatown on my last visit. Which, of course, calls for ANOTHER visit 🙂

    Lovely pictures!

Isn’t it amazing how…different it feels being in Chinatown? It’s just a block away from the “normal” city, and yet worlds away. I’d love to do a comparison of Chinatowns across the country. I’ve been only to San Francisco’s and Boston’s…and I’m sure I’ve passed thru NY but can’t remember.

What a fascinating place! Your photos are wonderful too. I want a pair of Foo Dogs for my house.

OOOH! Mark this on my list of places to visit! I don’t think I have ever been to Chicago’s china town which is really surprising!

Looks very cool, definitely gonna add it to my list of things to do when I finally visit “The Go” as the cool kids in Minneapolis call it.
