Long Is Relative.

I recently had this totally, 100% authentic conversation with this kid

and this kid, in our kitchen a few days ago.

Me: Wow, you really, really need a haircut!
Kid 1: What?? No I don’t!
Me: You totally do. It’s getting so long!
Kid 1: I don’t think so.

Kid 2, being completely serious: I really, really need a haircut.
Me: What?? No you don’t!
Kid 2: I totally do. It’s getting so long!
Me: I don’t think so.

This is groundbreaking!!!! He may even ask for money soon!

    LOL 🙂

HA! I have the same two boys living at my house.

I am much more a fan of kid 2's philosophy. Who knows what hairstyle boys will be sporting when Braden is a teen. I have been at the same hairstyle for 15 years. I say a classic never dies.

Love it… Each kid is so different, makes you kinda question the nature vs nurture debate huh?

  • WeaselMomma July 9, 2010, 8:34 pm

    Priceless.

My friend's son has the same (long, curly) hair. He calls it his "Jew fro." Is that racist??

  • Melisa with one S July 9, 2010, 8:38 pm

@mrs4444: I hope not; that's what my son calls it too. (and we're Jewish, as you know, so….)

    🙂

My son's hairdo looks a lot like Kid 1's and I would love for it to look like Kid 2's.

    A – I LOVE kid #1's t-shirt (and his curls)!

B – they're both really good looking guys no matter what length their hair is!

  • Sharon Cohen July 10, 2010, 4:30 am

This is hilarious – makes me so glad my completely opposite children are grown and raising kids of their own who are each and every one of them – individuals completely different than the next.

My kids are still young…it's good to know that 10 years from now I may be able to have similar conversations that I will want to write about, just like I do now!
I'm a new follower. Found you on the Saturday Sampling.

    It's all relative…LOL

  • Nancy C July 10, 2010, 6:02 pm

My kids are young, but it's the same thing. My youngest has flowing blond locks. My oldest has brown hair the consistency of a German Shepherd. Totally different.

  • Mrs. Call Me Crazy July 11, 2010, 1:07 am

    I love them.

  • Amy July 11, 2010, 1:41 am

That's very funny! I have one son who looks great with a #2 razor cut. The other one, not so much. I like him with a little bit o'hair. But not long. Of course if he had cute curly hair, I might think differently.

  • Michelle July 11, 2010, 4:03 am

So ummmm which was was which? 😉

And he DID need a haircut – look at how it's getting scraggly around his ears. Doesn't that tickle?

  • Lisa July 12, 2010, 2:09 pm

    LOL
I've created this sort of relativity in my own kids. When my two older ones were little they got buzz cuts, EARLY on. It was cheaper and easier and I LIKE short hair on boys. But then #3 came along and OMG he is so stinkin cute with long hair. Poor older boys still kept short for easy maintainence but the little one has to have it in his eyes before he get a cut.

Substitute kid 1 for my brother and kid 2 for me and it is just like conversations my mother had with us.

  • nycgirl0501 July 12, 2010, 4:01 pm

Too funny! I love the subminial t shirt! It & he are awesome!

  • Meeko Fabulous July 13, 2010, 7:56 pm

Which reminds me . . . My last haircut was two weeks ago . . . Me thinks I need to call my stylist for another one . . .
