It’s always a good thing to not be dead! LOL

I was waiting for you to keel over and act like you were poisoned.

And WM, I have to say everytime I see that soup it looks just a little nastier…yucky!

  • Weaselmomma January 27, 2009, 9:11 pm

You are too polite and kind. I was waiting for spewing sounds to emerge. Did you really eat the whole bowl or did the disposal do the hard part? BTW, if you were poisoned it would be all on Mr. Weasel, I didn’t add anything to the soup.

  • Momo Fali January 27, 2009, 9:21 pm

I love pea soup, and if you love it you know it has a funny texture. Now I’m craving it.

  • Tom January 27, 2009, 9:23 pm

VINDICATION! Mr Weasel has been proven to be a worthy chef. Now I have to get the recipe so I can make it and put up a video of Michael’s Family eating it.

    Excellent work, Melisa.

  • Melisa with one S January 27, 2009, 9:24 pm

Melissa: Yes, that *is* a good thing. And I left the theatrics out of it because I had given Weaselmomma such a hard time about making fun of Mr. Weasel. I think it’s funny in its own way though, don’t you? hee hee

Weaselmomma: I can’t lie. I only ate about 1/2 cup of it because I wasn’t hungry AND I gotta admit, the texture got to me after a bit. 🙂

Momo: Um, it was potato cheese soup.

  • Melisa with one S January 27, 2009, 9:25 pm

Tom: You’re going to have to *really* grind up the ingredients, though. (It really did TASTE good! It just didn’t FEEL good. 🙂 )

  • Sarah January 27, 2009, 9:39 pm

OMG …. “You know where to send the police”

I had a good laugh over that … and is it pea soup? I love me some split pea soup.

  • Sarah Clapp January 27, 2009, 11:45 pm

I went over to Weaslemomma’s blog. That post and your follow up was so funny!

    You’re a bigger person then I. I don’t think I could eat it.

  • Anonymous January 28, 2009, 12:25 am

Now i want some of that damn soup… You were fair and balanced, one s. nice job. and i liked the camera on roxy during your taste test… added bonus!

  • Melisa with one S January 28, 2009, 12:28 am

Sarah: Nope, not pea soup. See above. 🙂

    Sarah: Thanks! We try hard.

Anon: Kimmie, is that you? I want my Weather Kim TV!!!!

  • Michelle January 28, 2009, 3:45 am

Well we knew it wasn’t GREAT when we didn’t hear slurping repeatedly. The color was definitely ummmmm off. And I’ll offer up again my potato cheese soup that’s yellow with chunks of white potatoes 🙂

  • Melisa with one S January 28, 2009, 4:09 am

Michelle: I’ll be right over. 🙂

  • OhCaptain January 28, 2009, 5:09 am

Way to stand by your statements!

I actually didn’t think it looked horrible. Even with your white balance off a bit.

Then again, I grew up in restaurants. My parents owned one so I’ve never been afraid of a kitchen or bizarre foods.

  • Kat January 28, 2009, 7:26 am

I am glad Mr. Weasel got a break and while it may not be visually pleasing I bet it tasted good.

I did however get a good laugh out of your warning “If I die….” that just cracked me up.

  • NukeDad January 28, 2009, 2:51 pm

That is, quite possibly, the bravest thing I have ever seen. I too stood up for Mr. Weasel, but that soup wouldn’t have made it within 2 miles of my mouth. You should get a medal.

  • Qweenie January 28, 2009, 10:10 pm

So the moral of the story is, don’t puree the soup? I would think so anyway if it’s simply a texture thing…

I have to say it sounds good but looks awful, the words ‘baby shite’ come to mind…LOL

  • Melisa with one S January 29, 2009, 2:17 am

OhCaptain: Thanks! Yeah, it didn’t really look *that* green (sort of), but I take videos for the blog with my regular digital camera, set on the video feature so the quality is just slightly adequate. 🙂

Kat: It really did taste good! I was totally prepared to be honest either way. The “If I die” thing just came to me in that second. It’s my favorite part.

Nukedad: Thanks! (though I’m sure you’ve seen way braver acts, you’re really nice.) Maybe I’ll get a special tiara–a textured one–to commemorate the occasion.

Qweenie: I don’t know what the moral is. I’ll ask Weaselmomma and get back to you!

  • MaNiC MoMMyâ„¢ January 29, 2009, 7:42 pm

Did you really eat it all?

It’s the color I have a problem with. And it should maybe have some potato chunks in it.

Go see my comment at Weasel’s.

  • Dea January 30, 2009, 6:18 pm

Uh, yeah – I’m with Weaselmomma – color and texture? Eep! The bowl really, REALLY doesn’t help.

My mom’s potato soup NEVER came out that color….maybe he needs her recipe, because hers is divine.

Being a Weaselblogoholic I knew what this was the second I scrolled up and was so excited! Your vid reminds me of my “nutrition” vids except I show myself eating or drinking whatever it is since that is the funny part. I should go back and find the ones I have yet to post one of these days, my dorky vids seem to be a hit, lol!

From the looks/sounds of it I think that might be a soup best served with a large amount of toasted sourdough bread to dip in the soup while ingesting it. Looks way too rich for my stomach for sure, I’da eaten bread with my fellow picky eaters, though that kind is one of the few soups I was willing to eat (never been much of a soup/stew person). Either way Mr. Weasel gets points for trying, and he really is a sweetie.
