We Have A Winner!

As you may remember, I was running a little contest in honor of my day trip to Chicago. To enter, I asked you to tell me about your hometown in the comments or via e-mail. I am so happy I did this: I was fascinated with the information you guys all gave about where you’re from! The deadline was last night at midnight so it’s time to announce the winner, but first I will tell you how I did it.

A couple of you posted more than one comment about your town, and a couple of you posted a comment or two that didn’t talk about your town but commented on the post. One of you posted a comment AND e-mailed me. What I decided to do (It’s MY blog, MY rules: LOL) is count each person who commented at all, one time. In order:

1. Piper
2. Barb
3. Nukedad
4. Michelle
5. Anissa
6. Sue
7. Angie
8. Deanna
9. Kathy
10. Mags
11. Joeprah
12. Dawn
13. Kat
14. Linda

I put the numbers 1-14 in the Random Number Generator at Random.org and,

Drum Roll Please…

Our winner is…Joeprah!

Joe: I’ll need your snail mail address (don’t worry; I won’t use it to stalk you) so I can send you your LemonHEADS (not Lemondrops, for goodness sakes!) and the rest of the goodies! If you cannot fulfill your duties as Suburban Scrawl Contest Winner, I will randomly elect a Runner-up Winner to take your place. (But I’m sure you can handle it)

Thanks to everyone for their enthusiasm!

I am speechless. First, I would like to thank the academy…seriously, this is awesome. I never knew that being random would prove to be a winner for me, but check that out!! Awesome.

So all I gotta do is take out joeprah and I get a 1 in 13 chance of the LemonHEADS being MINE ALL MINE! Although I would never…would I??

I’m so bummed that I missed it. I got your email comment, but I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had time to catch up on blogs.

I can still tell you about my hometown, though. actually, that may make for a fun blogpost!

  • nukedad July 3, 2008, 8:46 pm

WHAT!? Joeprah? Are you kidding me? I smell a rat! A great big stinkin’ rat that looks like a Sony Digital Camera! Trying to trade lemonheads for a camera, Melisa? For shame. I demand a recount,er, I mean, a re-random generation! 🙁

Nukedad, no one likes a sore loser. I will share with you…wait you are in the midwest. I will eat the candy and think of you.

  • nukedad July 3, 2008, 11:11 pm

It’s the Mid-Atlantic, and I hope you get a stomach ache.

  • Melisa July 3, 2008, 11:20 pm

Anissa: I have a feeling you’re not the only one who is thinking about taking Joeprah out…

Andie: I know! A few others missed it too, but I don’t like to keep these things going for too long because I can’t stand not doing new posts! I have learned alot about N.O. on your blog already (so far) and I always love those posts. If you’re not originally from there, then TOTALLY do up a post about your hometown! I’d love to read it!

Nukedad: Wait…were you just buttering me up for this contest by leaving that lovely comment in my post about my son getting his license? I am not swayed by the likes of pretty words or swanky digital cameras…Good Day, Sir! (LOL)

Joeprah/Nukedad: Boys, Boys!!! Seriously! Calm down! Isn’t this how the World War I started? (I prefer reality tv to the History Channel, you know)

  • Joeprah July 4, 2008, 12:21 am

Mid-Atlantic? Shoot come on over and enjoy the lemondrops.

  • Nukedad July 4, 2008, 12:38 am

You buyin’ the gas? I’ll bring extra lemondrops if you pay for the gas. Deal?

  • nukedad July 4, 2008, 1:15 am

Melisa, I was NOT trying to “butter you up” to win lemonheads. If you had been giving away Krispy Kreme’s, then all bets would have been off.

  • Michelle July 4, 2008, 2:13 am

Wow, Lemonheads? Yum! And how very Chicago! Congrats, Joeprah!

  • Melisa July 4, 2008, 3:03 am

Nukedad: Cool. Thanks for the info. Next time I’m giving away Krispy Kremes, I’ll not get so excited about your comments. 🙂

Michelle: Yum is right! I wish Ferrara Pan still gave factory tours…*sigh*

  • nukedad July 4, 2008, 4:41 am

  • Dea July 4, 2008, 12:34 pm

Bwaha! Congrats Joeprah! And yeah – anyone who wants Krispy Kremes for gas money – lemme know….

  • Melisa July 4, 2008, 1:11 pm

    Nukedad: 🙂

Deanna: Ooh, that’s a good idea!

I’m sorry I missed out on telling you about my hometown and Scotland, it sounded like a lot of fun. I had every intention of coming over here (where the heck have I been?!) and joining in, but Cameron got a temperature of 103 and it persisted for 72 hrs, barely hitting 100 with meds. He’s been pretty clingy since then and it’s been hard to get online and STAY online. Sorry!

    Oh well, maybe next time.
